Jerry Jackson, 56, aka “The California KID,” departed this life on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at his residence in Cumberland.

He is survived by his son, Gavin “SLIM” Jackson (Tammy); grandson, Noah; parents, Deacon Robert and Deaconess Doreatha Jackson; two brothers, Robert Lee Jackson, III and Thomas Reed Jr. (Brenda); two sisters, Sheila Watkins (Rev. Lee Watkins Jr.) and Saundra Smith (James); Aunt Net his “buddy”; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and Friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5 at 11 a.m. at Rising Zion Baptist Church located at 272 Anderson Highway Cumberland, VA 23040. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. The Rev. Lee Watkins Jr. will deliver the eulogy.  The burial will be a private ceremony.
