Baxter Carter Jr. was tapped into Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Society as a rising sophomore at Randolph Macon College in Ashland recently.

The society recognizes achievement in five areas of scholarship: journalism, athletics, campus and community service, social or religious activities, campus government, speech and mass media and creative and performing arts.

Membership in ODK is regarded as one of the highest collegiate honors that can be awarded to an individual.

Carter is the son of Elizabeth and Baxter Carter Sr., of Farmville.
