AKA Chapter holds MLK Day of Service

The Kappa Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and Race Street Baptist Church Youth Department recently sponsored a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service event including reflections of the civil rights leader and information on community involvement, Virso Community Playground Project, voter education and the importance of historically black colleges and universities. Words of appreciation were extended to veterans followed by an inspiring message for community action by the Rev. Cetric Gayles, minister of Christian Education at Race Street Baptist Church. Backpacks and supplies for the MLK project were donated by the congregation.
