BUCKINGHAM — A public information workshop for the proposed 40,715-horsepower natural gas-fired compressor station proposed for Buckingham County is set for Tuesday from 5-7:30 p.m. at the county’s middle school.

The compressor station is part of Atlantic Coast Pipeline (ACP) LLC’s proposal — pending federal approval — to construct a natural gas pipeline from West Virginia to North Carolina.

The project, if approved, would result in a 42-inch pipeline buried through Buckingham and parts of Cumberland and Prince Edward counties. The project is a joint venture being led by Dominion.

“The format … will be similar to the open houses we held last year,” said Dominion spokesman Aaron Ruby.

“Individual stations will be set up to provide information about various aspects of the project, including land, construction, engineering, environmental and safety. The format is intended to give the public the chance to meet one-on-one with different project team members so we can answer their questions and focus on any particular issues they would like us to address.”
