Ada Shumaker Taylor, 89, of Buckingham, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2016.  “Nannie” was born October 19, 1926, the daughter of the late Lee and Maggie Shumaker.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert W. Taylor Sr.

Nannie is survived by her sons, Wilson Taylor and Danny Shumaker (Melissa); her grandchildren, Melissa Wood and her husband, Wayne, Herman “PeeWee” Taylor and his wife, Holly, Courtney Shumaker and Brittany Murphy; great-grandchildren, Colby Taylor, Dylan Wood, Cadence Campbell, and Carter Taylor; sisters, Ethel Taylor, Carrie Taylor and husband, Charlie and Maggie Marie Taylor and husband, Herman. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Willie, Douglas, Sydney, Hubbard, Daniel and Alfred Shumaker.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 12 at 2 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Dunn and the Rev. John Moxley officiating. Interment will follow in the Buckingham Community Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
