William Alexander Ferrell

William Alexander Ferrell, 67, of Wylliesburg, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016. He was born on October 18, 1948 in Clover to the late H.E. “Paul” Ferrell and the late Hilda Winona Card Ferrell.
William is survived by his daughter, Tammy Ferrell Mann and her husband, Scottie of Wylliesburg; one granddaughter, Whitney Flynn and her husband, Will of Boydton; three step-grandsons, Mike Jones of Jacksonville, FL, Neal Jones of Wylliesburg and Lewis Jones of Boydton; one step-great-grandson, Jay Jones; two brothers, James Ferrell and his wife, Nancy of Farmville and David “Shorty” Ferrell and his friend, Tabitha of Meherrin; two nephews, Kris Ferrell and his wife, Ariel and Johnny Ferrell; one niece, Julianna Ferrell; one great-niece, Kassie Ferrell; sister-in-law, Mabel Williams; and brother-in-law, James Ferguson. Mr. Ferrell is predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Ferguson Ferrell and stepson, J.P. Jones.
He is a Vietnam Army Veteran. He is a member of Wylliesburg Baptist Church, American Legion Post 43, Woodmen of the World, and Southside Firemen Association. He sold emergency vehicles and equipment for Vest Sales and Services, Inc.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 12 from 6 until 8:30 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home in Chase City.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13 at Wylliesburg Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors by American Legion Post 43.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Charlotte County Rescue Squad, Bacon District Fire Department, Chase City Rescue Squad, or Meherrin Fire and Rescue.
