Lotanna Nwogbo scored 19 points, Shaquille Johnson added 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Longwood men’s basketball team won its second straight game in dominant fashion, dispatching Big South foe Campbell 74-57 on the road Thursday evening.

Longwood (6-13, 2-4 Big South) led Campbell for all but the first 2:10 of the first half thanks to four double-figure scorers and a defensive effort that held the Fighting Camels to .328 (20-of-61) shooting from the field.

“I was very impressed with my team tonight. They were prepared, physically and mentally,” head coach Jayson Gee said of his Lancers.

The aforementioned big three — Nwogbo, Johnson and point guard Tra’Vaughn White — all scored in double figures for the second straight game and combined for 49 of Longwood’s 74 points. White scored 18 points, including 11 in the first half, and sank two driving layups in the final 38 seconds before halftime to give the Lancers a double-digit lead.

Players Leron Fisher and Chris Shields did not play for the fourth game in a row. The reason for their absence has not been disclosed.

The Lancers defeated the Fighting Camels (8-9, 2-5 Big South) on their home court for the second straight game and won their third straight game in the series. Longwood overwhelmed Campbell down low, outscoring the Camels 52-24 in the paint thanks to a 44-27 rebounding margin and Nwogbo’s 8-of-10 shooting performance.

Junior guard Darrion Allen stuffed the stat sheet as well, turning in a line of 11 points, four rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals. Khris Lane added eight points off the bench as part of a seven-player rotation that has combined for nine double-figure scoring games over the past two contests.

The Lancers host Winthrop at 5 p.m. Saturday.
