Fruit tree school set for Feb. 10

Virginia Cooperative Extension will hold “Commercial Fruit Tree School in Southside” on Feb. 10 at the Southern Piedmont AREC in Blackstone with sign-in at 8 a.m. and a program lasting until 2 p.m. Topics covered include research on brown marmorated stink bug, summer diseases in apples, invasive species of fruit, implications and alternatives of potential eradication of certain insecticides and a spray bulletin update.
