CVA to hold New Beginnings Party at Red Door 104

Published 4:10 pm Thursday, January 7, 2016

Central Virginia Arts will hold its 27th annual New Beginnings Party on Sunday, 3 to 6 p.m., at 104 N. Main Street in Farmville. Audrey Sullivan, founder of the Red Door 104 Art School and Gallery, will serve as hostess for the event.

Come join inventive people in an optional art-making project or choose to enjoy and observe the creativity of others.

The New Beginnings teamwork is a natural one between the two art organizations. Central Virginia Arts, a partner with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, is a regional group of artists and art appreciators, while Red Door 104 is a recently established art school and gallery.

In April 2013, Audrey and her husband Kent began renovations on their 1922 building that once housed a recreation center for World War II soldiers, a dance school, restaurant and other businesses. Upstairs Audrey and Kent created their home, while downstairs visitors find themselves doing almost anything related to the arts, such as attending art events or one of the many classes for children and adults.

Central Virginia Arts and Red Door 104 welcome all artists and art appreciators to attend the New Beginnings Party. If interested in learning more, call Tom Dennison, CVA president, (434) 392-6804.
