D’Asia Mechelle Brown, of Cumberland County, was the first baby born in the new year at Centra Southside Community Hospital in Farmville. D’Asia was born on Sunday, Jan. 3, at 6:46 a.m. to Domicci Brown, her father, and Leishia Green, her mother, who are pictured with their daughter. D’Asia weighed 6 pounds and 5 ounces and is 19.75 inches long.
