Way To Go! Downtown business serves free Thanksgiving meals

Uptown Coffee Cafe’s downtown Farmville location served over 100 free Thanksgiving meals on Thursday morning to the Farmville community. Jason Mattox, who, along with his wife, Jennifer, own the restaurant on North Main Street, said the event was to give back to the community. Several employees volunteered to make and distribute the meals, which included turkey, stuffing, pie and gravy. Uptown also collected over $250 in cash donations, which will be given to a needy family at Christmas. We commend Uptown for going above and beyond in serving the less fortunate on Thanksgiving Day and collecting money for the needy.
