The Omicron Rho Chapter of the Phi Beta Sigma fraternity at Longwood University recently held its annual Sleep Out for the Homeless event. The event — designed to promote awareness for the homeless — was held behind the Lankford Student Union from 7:14 p.m. to 7:14 a.m. The fraternity members not only slept in the cold but collected canned goods for the needy. We commend the fraternity for bringing awareness to an issue that affects so many both locally and nationally.
