On Saturday at 11 a.m., Brittany Scheib of Burtonsville, Md., will preface the New Year’s sermon at Guthrie Memorial Chapel, 2663 Cumberland Road, by addressing the question of spiritual growth through faith in Christ and obedience to Him.

Scheib, an accounting assistant taking course work  in criminology, is the granddaughter of Fillmer and Celia Hevener and the daughter of Frank and Yolanda Scheib. Hevener, pastor, will deliver the main New Year’s sermon on  the value of learning through obedience in 2016.
