PSWCD members recognized

Recognized for 20, 15, and 10 years of service, respectively, to the Piedmont Soil and Water Conservation District were, from left, Larkin Moyer of Amelia County, Wilkie Chaffin of Prince Edward County, and Robin Buckalew of Prince Edward County. The recognitions were made at the Virginia Association of Conservation Districts’ annual meeting held Dec. 6-8 in Richmond.  Moyer and Chaffin serve as popularly elected, volunteer directors on the district’s board. Moyer is the current chair of the board, and Chaffin serves as treasurer of the board.  Buckalew is the district’s public information specialist.  Conservation Districts provide information, technical assistance and cost-share funding to encourage voluntary conservation practices for the improvement of water quality and soil conservation.
