Buckingham man shot in Charlottesville

CHARLOTTESVILLE — A 26-year-old Buckingham man was shot in the leg on Christmas Day in Charlottesville.
According to a press release from the Charlottesville Police Department, the victim was treated at the University of Virginia Hospital and is in stable condition.
Lt. Stephen J. Upman, with Charlottesville Police, didn’t release the name of the victim.
“At approximately 2 a.m., officers with the Charlottesville Police Department responded to the 400 block of Garrett Street for the report of shots fired. Upon arrival, it was determined a disorder occurred in the area of Garrett Street and 2nd St. SE, and during the disorder several shots were fired. A victim from this incident arrived at the University of Virginia Hospital Emergency Room with a gunshot wound to the lower right leg,” the release stated.
