BUCKINGHAM — Delays on the Buckingham High School track renovation project have pushed the estimated completion date to next spring.
Initially, renovations were expected to be completed within one month.
According to Buckingham’s Division Superintendent Dr. Cecil Snead, “the company responsible for the renovations presented to our school board during the last meeting and explained that the weather conditions have caused the delay in completion for this fall. They explained that it would be in everyone’s best interest to wait until next spring to ensure a superior finished product.”
The Buckingham track is in the process of receiving a new coat of asphalt with latex on top, he said.
“In the meantime, we are pleased to report that the track will be open for pedestrian traffic only until the company can resume surface work in the spring,” Snead said.
