Longwood University senior Amelia McConnell, right, and Ann Bradshaw, a retired professor, spoke to the Farmville Rotary Club in October on Beyond the Numbers, a volunteer organization with over 20 members, including many university students. Beyond the Numbers offers an after-school program to Parkview Gardens Apartments and New Life Community Church to assist children with homework. They also provide a variety of age-appropriate extracurricular activities. Our community is fortunate to have these dedicated students and educators who volunteer their time to assist local children.
