FARMVILLE — The Farmville Town Council approved an amendment to the zoning ordinance on Thursday.
The request came from Russell Harper, according to the town.
The zoning amendment will add the following uses in a Business B-4 zone: “apartment, condominium and townhouse development. Overall density shall not exceed (10) dwelling units per acre. A conditional use permit shall be required.”
“This property that they want to develop is located behind Willa Woods’ [house] adjacent to Walmart [on South Main Street],” said Farmville Town Manager Gerald Spates.
Harper owns approximately 10 acres of land located behind Wood’s property, according to the town.
By approving this zoning amendment, the uses are allowed in all B-4 zones with a conditional use permit, Spates said.
