Karl Schmidt, of Abilene, recently killed a black coyote two miles from Hampden-Sydney College on Five Forks Road. Schmidt used a 25-06 with a 9x scope to kill the coyote from 140 yards away. Schmidt said that he had “never seen a meaner-looking coyote.”
