The funeral service for Ruth E. (Copeland) Dickerson, of Farmville, will be held on Saturday, November 14, at 12:00pm at Old Green Creek Baptist Church, Farmville. She died Thursday, November 5, 2015 at FutureCare in Baltimore, MD.

She was born February 18, 1924 in Farmville, a daughter of the late Eliza and John Copeland.

She leaves to cherish her memories, four daughters, Lily Ann Dickerson and Wynola Spears of Paterson, NJ, Jacqueline Fassett and Doris Johns (Robert) of Baltimore, MD; one son, Owen Dickerson of Paterson, NJ; four grandchildren, Yolanda Johnson (Sylvester) of Atlanta, GA, Tobie Johns and Jermel Fassett, of Baltimore, MD, and Frederick Spears of Paterson, NJ;  three great-grandchildren, Aaron Dukes and Quincy Barnett of Baltimore, MD, and Myles-Anthony Johnson of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Kathleen Whitting of Farmville; and a brother, Leslie Copeland of Paterson, NJ.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Owen “Cheekie” Dickerson, one daughter, Jane Dickerson, four sisters, Martha West, Clara Carter, Mary Thornton, and Frances Brooks, and a brother, John Copeland.

Her remains rest at Carl U. Eggleston Funeral Establishment in Farmville, where a public viewing will be held on Friday, November 13, from 2:00pm to 7:00pm.
