Redbud Club holds annual picnic

The Redbud Garden Club held its annual picnic at the Angola Hunt Club Sept. 20.
Two categories of flower arrangements were on display along with specimens which were judged by Major Thompson and Joe Higgins who truly enjoy flowers and gardening.
Flower arrangements were “Three Times A Charm, “an arrangement using flowers of one color, one variety and three blooms, and “Shell Game,” a design with shells or using a shell as a base or vase.
Winners for “Three Times A Charm” included blue: Liz Dunn, Janet Higgins, Ann Ligon, Audrey Robinson and Kate Shorter. Red went to Geraldine Sanderson.
“Shell Game” winners included blue: Mary Hazlegrove, Ann Ligon, Geraldine Sanderson and Sarah Schember. Red went to Dottie Fahrner, Janet Higgins, Patsy Miessler, Audrey Robinson and Jo Smith.
Specimen winners were Rebecca Gile, one blue; Janet Higgins, five blue and three red; Audrey Robinson, one blue; Sarah Schember, two blue.
