The Heart of Virginia Beekeepers will present a Practical Beekeeping for Beginners course on Tuesday evenings starting Feb. 2, from 7-9 p.m. at the Prince Edward Extension office, 100 Dominion Drive, Farmville. The course will run through April 5.

The course will cover everything from the history of beekeeping to equipment and supplies needed to establish new colonies and colony management. The $90 tuition covers classroom instruction, three textbooks, a field day trip and a year’s membership in the local beekeeping association.
