Police make trick-or-treating safe

During Halloween events across the Heart of Virginia, law enforcement officers played an invaluable part in keeping our youth and their families safe as they walked streets and roads and drove from house to house. Such was the case at Payne Memorial United Methodist Church’s trunk-or-treat held Saturday. Cumberland Sheriff’s Deputy Sheairo Harris, left, Virginia State Police Trooper Ben Davis, middle, and Trooper Jake Wolford not only protected trick-or-treaters from traffic hazards but also purchased candy for the children. We commend them for their service.
