On Sept. 28 the Longwood Garden Club began its 90th season, meeting at the Longwood Bed and Breakfast for an event hosted by Reed Horton. There were 15 horticultural exhibits. Shirley Blackwell, Marianne Dennison, Harlan Horton, Reed Horton, Ann Morton Neale, Julie Shield, David Whaley and Pam Wilson received blue ribbons.  For the artistic arrangement, Blackwell received a blue ribbon and Shield received a white.
