FARMVILLE — Free hot chocolate and kettle corn will mark Farmville’s inaugural Community Holiday Tree lighting on Friday, Nov. 20 at 6 p.m.
The event will take place at the Main Street Plaza in downtown Farmville near the caboose.
The holiday tree was purchased several months ago from Longwood University, according to the town.
Farmville Downtown Partnership is helping plan the first-of-its kind event.

The Grinch will be present, and the mayor will light the tree.
The public is invited to attend.
