Hadsell pleads guilty to ammunition charge

NORFOLK — The stepfather of a Longwood University student who was found dead in Southampton County has pleaded guilty to a charge of being a felon in possession of ammunition.
According to a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice, 37-year-old Wesley Paul Hadsell “admitted that on Dec. 23, 2013, he purchased ammunition at Bob’s Gun Shop in Norfolk.”
Hadsell is set to be sentenced on March 18.
On Oct. 7, Hadsell was found to have been in possession of heroin, according to the Norfolk Police Department.
Former Longwood student Angelica Hadsell, whose remains were discovered in April, died from acute heroin poisoning, according to Norfolk Police.
