Concert set for Dec. 12

On Saturday, Dec. 12, the American Youth Harp Ensemble and Virginia Choristers will present, “Harp! The Herald Angels Play!” with a 2:30 p.m. choral prelude and 3 p.m. concert at Grace Baptist Church, 4200 Dover Road, Richmond.
A Richmond holiday tradition and an event for the entire family, this concert will feature over 75 harpists and singers, ages 7 to 18, performing beloved holiday classics.
Concert-goers are sure to be enthralled by these world-class performers who have been called “a national cultural treasure” by the U.S. Department of State’s Cultural Arts Director.
As frequent collaborators, these Virginia-based ensembles have delighted audiences most recently in Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, the White House, and Windsor Castle, England, with a performance this season in Carnegie Hall.
The harp ensemble’s recent CD, Caravan: 10 Harps, 10,000 Miles is under 2016 Grammy Award consideration.
