Witschey to give Lunch & Learn program

On Thursday, Nov. 5, at noon, Joan Witschey will present “Planting a Wildflower Garden” at the Heart of Virginia Master Gardener Lunch and Learn Program.
Joan moved to the Farmville area from Richmond about eight years ago with hope for enough land and time to grow things. Not long after that she joined the Heart of Virginia Master Gardeners.
Witschey will share a practical approach to the rewards (and tribulations) of planting a wildflower garden based on her recent experiences. The discussion will deal with site preparation, selection, seeding, weed control and maintenance while touching on a few of her unexpected “bumps in the road.”
The Prince Edward County Virginia Cooperative Extension and the Heart of Virginia Master Gardeners sponsor the Lunch and Learn series. The program will be held in the conference room of the Prince Edward County Extension Office, Dominion Drive, Farmville. Bring lunch and learn how to plant and maintain a wildflower garden. The Lunch and Learn program is free and lasts less than an hour
