PRINCE EDWARD — Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Prince Edward County on Oct. 28 on U.S. Route 15 south of Farmville.
According to State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller, the accident was reported at 4:10 p.m. less than a mile south of State Route 701.
A 17-year-old driver of a 2004 Buick LeSabre sustained serious injuries, Geller said, and was transported to nearby hospital. “A female passenger was also transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries,” she said. Both were wearing seatbelts, according to Geller.
The Buick “was traveling south on Route 15 when it slowed to make a left turn into a private driveway. A 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was traveling south when it came up behind the Buick,” Geller said. “The pickup crossed the centerline into the northbound lane and ended up striking the Buick in the driver’s side as it turned into the driveway.”
The driver of the pickup truck, Joshua Z. Traylor, 19, of Keysville, was not injured in the crash and was wearing a seatbelt. “Traylor was charged with unlawfully passing another vehicle,” Geller stated.
