“Watermedia: Exploring Yupo and Gessoed Paper,” a four-day watercolor workshop with Ursula Burgess, will be held 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 16, through Thursday, Nov. 19. The program, sponsored by Central Virginia Arts and the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts, will be held in the lower level of LCVA, 129 North Main Street in Farmville.

“Working on a slippery surface will expose you to a variety of new, fun watercolor techniques you cannot achieve with normal watercolor paper,” artist and instructor Ursula Burgess said. “We are using acetate paper called Yupo or gesso-treated watercolor paper to eliminate absorption. This is a workshop for all levels from the beginner to advanced student.“
