Lancers win three of four matches at Lehigh

Maria Coronel and Anna Pelak won their respective singles bouts to lead Longwood University women’s tennis to three match wins Saturday at the Lehigh Invitational on the Ulrich Varsity Courts in Bethlehem, Pa.

Pelak picked up two of those wins, including an 8-3 singles victory over Lehigh’s Kristin Godau, and a 7-5 doubles win with partner Paloma Alatorre over the Lehigh pairing of Nina Larrazo and Jess Graham.

The Lancers’ three-player contingent at the weekend invitational also included Coronel, who added a singles victory of her own, 8-5 over Larrazo.

Longwood’s lone loss came at the hands of Lehigh’s Abby Duddy, who avenged her teammates’ doubles loss to the Lancers with an 8-4 win over Alatorre in singles action.
