Janie Gormus Micklem, 71, of Dillwyn, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015. She was a daughter of the late Robert Wesley Gormus and Frances Taylor Gormus.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Irving Micklem; five children, Sherrin Jamerson of Newsoms, Richard Call Jr. (Gina) of Dillwyn, Frances Moore of Buckingham, Janet McHenry (Tina) of Waynesboro and Regina Hartley of Maine; sisters, Linda Shifflett  (Buddy) of Dillwyn and Juanita Thompson (Carl Jr.) of Farmville; a brother, Robert James Gormus (Doris) of Dillwyn; 13 grandchildren with one special grandson, Timothy Marsh; five great-grandchildren; many aunts, uncles, cousins,  nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Jamerson. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 2, at 2 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, with interment in the Rocky Mount United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home
