A Groundsman Training Program offered by Southside Virginia Community College begins on Nov. 2 at the SVCC Occupational Technical Center at Pickett Park, Blackstone, and will continue through Nov.25. A groundsman performs a variety of work tasks in the construction, maintenance and repair of electrical distribution and transmission lines and equipment.  Groundsman training is the first step towards a career as a linesman.
