Machelle J. Eppes — the Democratic nominee for Prince Edward’s Circuit Court Clerk — has announced that she’s seeking a second eight-year term.
“She was elected by the citizens of Prince Edward County in a special election held on April 5, 2005, and was re-elected in Nov. 2007 for an eight-year term,” she said in a statement.
Prior to being elected clerk, Eppes served as a deputy clerk beginning February 1988.
“Machelle is the widow of the late Major David Edward Eppes. They have one daughter, DaVida … Machelle is a member of High Rock Baptist Church in Rice and the Voices of Unity Choir of Race Street Baptist Church in Farmville,” she said in a statement.
Eppes said she also serves as a member of the Order of Eastern Star Prince Hall Affiliation of Virginia.
The election is Nov. 3.
