The Longwood Center for the Visual Arts will whisk families from Farmville to Mexico on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. for its annual Día de los Muertos free family workshop (children must be accompanied by adult). Celebrated around the world, Mexico’s Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) honors the lives of loved ones, past and present and offers kids an opportunity to make maracas and paper flowers and carve pumpkins (LCVA will supply everything except pumpkins).
