BUCKINGHAM — The Buckingham County Sheriff’s Office has joined the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (SOVA ICAC).
According to the task force’s website, the group protects children across Southern Virginia.
“Basically, it’s just a helpful resource that we can draw from in our investigations over here,” Sheriff William G. “Billy” Kidd Jr. said.
“SOVA ICAC is one of 61 Internet Crimes Against Children Task Forces throughout the United States. These ICACs work with hundreds of affiliate local, county and state law enforcement agencies,” the task force’s website stated.
The task force fosters statewide and regional coordination, information sharing and investigative integration and provides investigative and prosecutorial assistance to law enforcement agencies and prosecutors.
