Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) is partnering with the American Red Cross to sponsor a blood drive Nov. 6 in the Buckingham County High School gym from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. with the slogan “100 pints for 100 lives.”

High school and college students who host an American Red Cross blood drive through Jan. 15, 2016, are eligible to win a scholarship up to $2,500 for higher education and earn a gift card. A total of six scholarships will be awarded to student drives that collect 25 blood donations or more.

“I have five seniors in my class who have all applied to nursing school and will become wonderful nurses. All plan to come back to this area to work as RNs,” BCHS HOSA advisor Janet H. Mitchell said.
