Banks not ‘an embarrassment’

Lloyd Banks is anything but “an embarrassment.”

I was appalled to recently read where someone concluded that my county supervisor was “an embarrassment.”

This is the same supervisor who has given his personal cell phone number to everyone in the county. As a matter of fact, it begins to ring about 6 a.m. and usually continues until about 11 p.m. I can’t tell you how many times it has interrupted my sleep, rest, meals and vacations with his commitment to taking everyone’s call.

This is the same supervisor who proudly served this nation for 20 years and was at the Pentagon the morning of 9/11. This is the same supervisor who has raised 11 kids and drives an old pickup truck so they can have the latest comforts and conveniences.

This supervisor tossed out the old 3-minute rule and has opened the meeting floor to citizens for as long as they have concerns. This supervisor has been at meetings until the late hours listening to citizens and ensuring he represented their views versus simply his own. This is the supervisor who does not go to bed after a meeting without telling the citizens by email what took place. This is the supervisor who has fought tooth and nail to try to avoid another tax increase.

While one may be “embarrassed,” this is the supervisor I am extremely proud of!
