Sisters finally meet

Tamara Coles Hand, of Prospect Park, N.J., learned she had a sister named Michelle last April.
This summer the two sisters met for the first time. Both are daughters of Ernest P. “Bill” Williams, of Chesterfield
“My parents were from the Prospect (Virginia) area,” Tamara said. “Then my mother went to New Jersey, and my father went to New York, and I lost touch with my dad.”
In April 2014, Tamara received a call from Angela Michelle Baker, of Atlanta, Ga. During that call Tamara learned that Michelle is her sister — and that Michelle is a twin. Her brother Michael is in the military living in Alabama.
On August 1 the sisters finally met in New York City. The husbands and children of the sisters called it “a day long overdue” since discovering that they were family in 2014.
“Michael lives in Alabama and could not come, but we are planning a big family reunion next year,” Tamara said.
According to the sisters, this will be the first of many family reunions.
“Now that we have found each other we will never be apart,” Tamara said.
“You have no idea the stories we have to tell,” Tamara said. “I don’t have words to express how happy I am. I am so grateful that God allowed our paths to connect. This is truly a blessing.”
“I always wanted a sister,” she added. “She’s perfect, and I’m looking forward to meeting my brother, Michael.”
