Mrs. Marie Taylor Brooks, 91, of Cumberland, departed this life on Monday, August 31, 2015 in Farmville.

She is survived by her children, Charlie Brooks Jr. (Susanne), St. Cassell Brooks (Helen), Joseph Brooks (Maxcine), Joyce Spencer (Richard) and Rev. Tammy Mitchell; eight grandchildren;  20 great grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren; one sister, Neater Bell Sims; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.   

Public viewing will be held Friday, 10am to 8pm at Marian Gray Thomas Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11am at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Larry E. Smith,  pastor, officiating.
