PRINCE EDWARD — The circuit court clerk’s office in Prince Edward will soon see renovations and improvement work.
The county’s board of supervisors agreed to spend $8,500 to upgrade security in the office during a recent meeting.
“The reason we’re asking for this is for security purposes,” said Machelle J. Eppes, the court clerk. She explained that the improvements, which would include changes to the entrance to the office and the building of a new wall, would better secure money, sensitive documents and her employee’s work areas.
“We need to secure our records that’s to the public,” she said.
“Something needs to be done on the security in that office,” said Board Chairman Howard Simpson.
