Rita Handy Crawley, 69, of Rice, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015.

She is survived by her husband, Earl A. Crawley; two daughters, Tonya Pincus and Sarah Brooks; a brother, J.R. Handy of Amelia; three sisters, Josephine Alston of Richmond, Joan Hastings (Frank), and Jean Lewis of Blackstone; and three granddaughters, Brittany, Alyssa and Caitlyn.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Raymond, Curtis, Aubrey, Talton, Douglas, Wallace, and Bobby, and her parents, Clinton and Betty Handy.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 26, at 12 noon at Pisgah Baptist Church, Rice, with interment in Amelia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, August 25, from 6-8 p.m. at Shorter Funeral Home.
