On August 7, Hampden-Sydney College signed an agreement with HBX, Harvard Business School’s unique digital learning initiative. This agreement will reserve seats and facilitate financial aid for Hampden-Sydney students in future cohorts of HBX CORe, a 150-hour online course spanning the disciplines of Economics, Financial Accounting, and Business Analytics. This curriculum is taught using a combination of videos and interactives created by HBS professors specifically for this program, which is aimed at liberal arts undergraduates and recent graduates. Successful completion of the program leads to a Credential of Readiness (CORe) from HBX.
Three members of the Hampden-Sydney community—Aaron Gilani ’15, Hunter Brown ’14, and Davis Yake ’08—recently completed the second offering of the online program. Yake said that “the HBX program is an excellent tool for anyone looking to prepare themselves for business school or simply looking to gain an understanding of business fundamentals before entering any workplace. Harvard Business School and Hampden-Sydney are two exceptional institutions that will prove to be great partners in this agreement.”
Hampden-Sydney College joins Amherst, Carleton, Grinnell, Hamilton, Washington, Wellesley, and Williams Colleges as partners in this new venture with Harvard Business School.
