Tuggle: Travels top July news

Mrs. Flora Bolt, Mrs. Lois Gager, Mrs. Betty Meadows and Mrs. Irene Layne met for lunch on Friday at Merk’s Place.

Last Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith and their granddaughter, Brianna and her friend Jacob, had dinner at the Ashland Coffee and Tea Company. They also heard the Revelers play Cajun music. They joined some friends they had met at Augusta at Davis and Elkins College several weeks ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith were the guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith, for dinner at Texas de Brazil in Henrico on Wednesday to celebrate Charles’ new job.

It was good to see Marie Banton at Appomattox PE Church last Sunday. She has been recuperating from a fall in her home.

Mrs. Betty Noblin, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Richardson and Lee Nell Ward enjoyed a bus trip Tuesday to Wytheville to the Wohlohrt – Hauf Dinner Theater’s “Gospel Jubilee.”

Mrs. Judy Bolt and children, Chris and Jennifer, had most of the Bolt family at their home for lunch Sunday to celebrate Judy’s birthday.

Mrs. Peggy Kelsey and Mrs. Flora Bolt met at Merk’s on Tuesday for lunch.

Mrs. Flora Bolt, Mrs. Judy Bolt and Jennifer Bolt attended the Farmville/Prince Edward Historical meeting July 21 and had dinner together afterward at McDonald’s.

Richard and Margaret Stockton have returned home following a most delightful trip to Austin, Texas, going through Tennessee and Arkansas and returning home through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and then to Tuggle. They attended the 66th Chenault National Family Reunion.

Friends and neighbors are praying for a speedy recovery for: Fred Floyd, Elfrieda Kerns, Dorothy Womack, Betty Jean Bolt and Mildred Harvey Shanks.

The Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will speak Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle Sunday.

The Rev. Caitilin Hoy will speak at Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church Sunday at 11 a.m.; Sunday school is at 10 a.m. All are invited.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville 301 Industrial Park Rd., has worship Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. and Bible study Wednesday at 7 p.m. All are invited.
