James Douglas Baker Sr., 89

PROSPECT, JULY 21 — James Douglas Baker Sr., 89, of Prospect, passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 16, 2015. He was born in Bertrand, MO on August 12, 1925 to the late Johnny and Mattie Loughlin Baker.

He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Farmville Church of Christ and loved to work in his garden and “tinker” in the garage.

Mr. Baker is survived by his children, James D. Baker Jr. (Joann) of Casco, MI, John A. Baker (Carol) of Midland, MI, and Sharon E. Spangenberg (Roger) of Prospect; two brothers, Bill and Homer Baker; a sister, Martha Jane (Travis) Jackson of Texas; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Iva Lou Lynn Baker and four brothers.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, July 21 in Prospect Gospel Tabernacle Church, Prospect.
