CUMBERLAND COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING

The Cumberland County Planning Commission will meet on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard, in Room C-8 of the Cumberland County Community Center located at the corner of Anderson Highway (Route 60) and Forest View Road (Route 628) in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct public hearings pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-2204, which such hearing may be continued or adjourned, as required under applicable law, and to consider the following items and taking actions in furtherance thereof:
Conditional Use Permit (CUP) 15-06 Giles Road Campground – A conditional use request to allow a Recreational Vehicle Park in an A-2 District. The property is located on Giles Road, approximately 0.2 miles south of Columbia Road, and is designated as tax map parcel 10-A-60B. The parcel is 3.6 acres, and is zoned A-2. The parcel is not within the designated growth area and is within Election District 1.
Rezoning 15-03 Atkins – A rezoning request of approximately 8.2 acres of property, currently zoned R-1 and A-2, Agricultural to B-2, Business District, Limited. This property is located at 1547 Cumberland Road, Tax Parcel 110AHA-4. The property is located in a high intensity growth area as designated on the Comprehensive Plan. The property is currently in use as a home and is planned to be a pottery and antiques shop. The property is located in Election District 5.
Code Amendment (CA) 15-09, Buffers – The Cumberland County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on a code amendment to require buffers for new commercial development or redevelopment adjacent to residential uses.
Copies of the complete text of the proposed conditional use permit, rezoning, and ordinance amendment are available for public review at the office of the Cumberland County Planning Department, County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, Virginia between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm of each business day. The public is invited to attend this hearing at which persons affected may appear and present their views.
