We here in the Tuggle area are very thankful for the much needed rain God sent us on Monday afternoon.
The Prospect Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary meatloaf supper will be June 20 from 5-7 p.m., cost is a donation at the door. The meal will include meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, bread, drinks, and desserts.
One hundred or so family and friends gathered on Saturday in the beautiful yard of Sue Franklin to celebrate the graduation of Emily Sue Roach daughter of Michael and Stephanie Roach and granddaughter of Sue Franklin. A good time was had by all those present.
Peggy Kelsey enjoyed her first picnic with the Commonwealth Chorale held at Wilckes Lake. Joe McCutchen conducted the business meeting to elect officers and board members for 2016.
On Sunday afternoon Mrs. Jeanann Message treated Mrs. Pat Smith, to lunch at Ruby Tuesdays.
Monday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith traveled to Chesterfield for an appointment, went shopping and enjoyed lunch before returning home.
On Tuesday Mrs. Dianna Smith and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Pat Smith, enjoyed spending the day together doing some shopping and having lunch.
Mrs. Laurie Allen Justus, of Damascus, spent Sunday and Monday with her mother Mrs. Hilda Allen.
Mrs. Judith Reynolds joined Richard and Margaret Stockton, Don and Betty Meadows, and Scott and Hilda Friend for breakfast at Merk’s Place on Monday morning.
A very speedy recovery is wished for all those who are sick at this time or just need our prayers: Betty Jean Bolt, Elfrieda Kerns, Mildred Shanks, and Raymond Dickerson.
The Third Annual Revive Prospect/Revive America will begin on June 7, at 7 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 1144 Hendricks Road, Pamplin. The Revival will be held from Sunday, June 7 through Friday, June 12, with seven Ministers and choirs participating. The public is cordially invited and urged to attend. “Our area, our State and our Nation are in desperate need of coming together and revival. The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with Worship at 11 a.m. Rev. Worley will be with them on Sunday.
Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road, in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.
