SOUTH BOSTON — America’s Hometown Track will be roaring with excitement Saturday night when the Super Late Models of the Pro All Star Series (PASS) will invade the historic four-tenths mile asphalt oval for their first appearance of the season.

The PASS Super Late Model 150 racing program will also be highlighted by a pair of 75-lap races for the drivers in the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division and 25-lap events for the touring Legends Car Series and Midgets.

The first of the five races scheduled as part of the PASS Super Late Model 150 racing program will get underway at 7 p.m.

Zane Smith, a two-time winner in 2015, currently sits atop the standings in the PASS Super Late Model South Division standings. Tate Fogleman, who has posted two top-five finishes is second in the standings and is followed in the top five by Jody Measmer, Matt Craig and Jimmy Doyle.

Former South Boston Speedway NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division champions Peyton Sellers and Matt Bowling are also scheduled to compete in the PASS Super Late Model 150 Saturday night.

When the green flag waves for the start of the NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division events Saturday; two-time NASCAR Whelen All American Series national champion Lee Pulliam will be looking to add to his lead in the 2015 championship chase standings.

Pulliam has recorded four victories at America’s Hometown Track this season and owns a seven-point advantage over Bowling in the chase for the 2015 South Boston Speedway NASCAR Whelen All American Late Model Stock Car Division championship.

Juan Garcia is third in the Late Model Stock Car Division standings. He is just five points ahead of fourth-place Austin Thaxton. Quin Houff rounds out the top five in the division’s championship point standings.

Registration and pit gates will open on Saturday at noon. Practice for all divisions will be held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 4:30 p.m. and qualifying time trials will crank up at 4:45 p.m. An autograph session will be held prior to racing action trackside where fans can meet their favorite drivers.
