TEXAS, June 9 — Lillie Hailey Layne, 90, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015 in Houston, Texas. She was born on July 5, 1924, in Meherrin to the late Thomas Irvin Hailey and the late Evie Atwell Hailey.

Mrs. Layne is survived by one son, Roger (Susan) Layne of Bedford; two daughters, Reva (Ronald) Cunningham of Houston, Texas and Linda Taylor of Farmville; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her husband, of 66 years, James William Layne; five brothers; and four sisters.

A graveside service was held Saturday, June 6 in the Meherrin Methodist Church Cemetery, Meherrin.

Memorial contributions, in Mrs. Layne’s honor, may be made to the charity of your choice.

The Browning-Duffer Funeral Home, Keysville, was in charge of the arrangements.
