DILLWYN, June 9 — Franklin Roosevelt Moss, 73, of Dillwyn passed away Friday, June 5, 2015. He was born December 8, 1941 in Buckingham County, the only son of the late George and Emma Murphy Moss.
He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was Commander of Buckingham Post 8446 of the V.F. W. 1983-1986 and 1988-2004. He was also a member of the Dillwyn Masonic Lodge #315 and the Royal Arch Chapter #64.
Mr. Moss is survived by his wife of 40 years, Judy Hellard Moss; his sisters, Marjorie Sloan, Edna Davis, Ann McKay and Frances Spain and a host of nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Duty.
Funeral services were held June 8 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with interment in the Buckingham Community Cemetery with Military Honors and Masonic Rites.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Buckingham County Rescue Squad or Bethlehem Baptist Church.
